This was written a long time ago. It is amazing how much my life has changed since this. However, as I remember, it was a big hassle to have to remove it all and put it back for light from that particular window. So, let me get this straight you stapled up a thermal blanket first? Correct? Then covered that up with a thicker thermal blanket then you put up blackout thermal curtains behind them all? And if you don't use your central heat at all you are going to crack your pipes. And a $600+ electric bill for an apartment in a complex means you should seriously reconsider your lifestyle.
