I signed up with Chitika today.  Seems to be simular to Adsense, but if someone comes to the site via a search engine link then the ads will reflect items that deal with the search topic, so that is pretty cool.  It is free to sign up, so ya really got nothing to lose.  Plus if you sign up through my link on the left, I will earn a small percentage of whatever you make and the amount you make will not be less for signing up though the link I provided

Yesterday, I ended the day with actually making $5.64 through Adsense, so that was nice.  Currently I am at $1.77 for the day.  Chitika reports a day late, so I won’t know where I am at until tomorrow.

Also, I would like to thank all those that read the blogs and check out the ads; especially the Adsense and Chitika ads, it really feels good to be getting some money for the work.  I guess I spent around 6 hours on it today.

Personal Log  (stardate), lol, too much star trek:
Did my normal routine, I need that mouse over, which is coffee in the morning, sports betting, breakfast, poker tournament, work-out, lunch, and then worked on the site.  Although I was kind of off today for sports betting as I had no plays.  However, I did have to check everything and post it, so that took around 30 minutes.  I also played in 5 poker tournaments today, instead of the usual 2-4.  One was because my cousin called and wanted me at the table with him.  I almost didn’t make it to the money level, but I got lucky and we both took some cash home.  I also, switched from a prop player to a standard rake back player, someday I will explain on that, as many people don’t realize the money they can make from being a prop player.

Well, my cat and I are heading downstairs.  There is a bee…(out of beer! grr!!)  err… glass of wine with my name on it.

As you can see I finally got a response of godaddy.  There email said, “Unfortunately we only offer banners with the iFrame tag, however many affiliates have successfully integrated our banners into their WordPress blogs. Umm… okay, I have no idea what they are saying, was my first thought.  However, it did get me searching for a plugin.  Once I found one, of course it didn’t work at all since I needed to change some coding, but in-the-end, I got it working.  I should start making a blog about my whole experience and all the issues I have had setting this up and give a step-by-step instruction guide on what to do.  Guess I will add it to the list… lol…

I did my normal routine, which consists of coffee in the morning, sports betting, breakfast, poker tournament, work-out, lunch, then started working on the site, some housework, and then back to working on the site.  I probably took a nap in there also   Perhaps tomorrow, I will see if I can find a mouse over that I can just say normal routine and it pops up where the mouse is.  Of course it would probably be a java script and interfere with something.

So let’s say you clicked on BetPhoenix here, signed-up, sent your money, and got a 100% free play.  Okay, so now what ?  You might ask; you might also be thinking how can I use this free play bonus effectively to guarantee I get 50% of it in cash.

First a quick explanation of how a sports betting free play works. If you already know, then you can skip this paragraph.  Let’s say I sent $500 to Bet Phoenix and they gave me $500 in free plays.  I now have two different balances, a cash balance and a free play balance.  Now I pick the game I want, I will use Utah Jazz in the NBA and the spread is -2.  Well, I am not sure if Utah will win, so I use my free play.  I place $110 down to win $100 of my free play and Utah wins by 8 points.  Woot! I won.  Now my cash balance is $500 + $100 = $600 and my free play amount is $500 – $110 = $390.  If you add the two now it is only $990.  So, even though I won, which if this was only a cash balance with no free play, I would have a balance of $1100, I still lost the free play amount.  The thing about free plays is once you risk the free play the amount risked is gone, whether you win or lose.  Now with cash, you get the amount you risked back if you win.  So, basically, a free play is the same as cash if you lose, but if you win, you only convert it to cash.  Hopefully I explained that clearly, if not please just leave a comment below and I will try to explain the unclear parts bettor.

So, what we want to do is maximize this free play we got.  There are several ways and some are complicated and some are not.  Now before I start to explain I will not be talking about using 12 three team parlays with 6x odds or anything like that.  Yes, it can convert something like 75% or higher of the free play to cash, the problem that most people don’t seem to realize is, yes technically, it can be done, but in practicality you would be extremely hard pressed to find quality books that first had 6x odds, then allowed you to bet both sides, then allowed you to cover every possible scenario, and then allowed you to do it with a free play.  So, you may in your search have come across using parlays and that strategy, well, good luck to you if you want to try that route.  As for me, I will stick to converting a guaranteed 50% – 55% into cash.

Okay, I will use an example of an actually play I did recently:

NBA- Dec 27, 2010
Minnesota Timberwolves +155
New Orleans Hornets -170

Now our goal is to turn that $500 free play  into at least $250 cash so our cash balance would be $250 + $500 = $750.  The lines above are to win lines.  Now you always have to use the free play on the dog and you are looking for a line that is at least +150 with the other team no greater than -200, this will insure you get at least a 50% return.  Now you will not be able to do this at one book, you will have to have money in another book for this to work because you are just asking for trouble if you try this at one book.

Okay, so let’s see how this betting strategy will turn out.  We would have placed our $500 free play on the Minnesota Timberwolves +155; which would be to risk $500 to win $775.  Now we go over to our other account and risk $500 cash on the New Orleans Hornets -170 in the amount $500 to win $294.12.

Final outcome if Minnesota wins = $775 cash from the free play, but lose the $500 cash play, so our profit is $275.
Final outcome if New Orleans wins = $0 from the free play, but gain $294.12 from the cash play, so our profit is $294.12

Minnesota wins = $275 cash which means 55% of the free play was converted to cash
New Orleans wins = $294.12 cash which means 58.8% of the free play was converted to cash.

So, how did we do?  On this day the Minnesota Timberwolves won.  Our new cash balance is $500 + $275 = $775. This play took me only a few minutes to make and yet earned me a nice 55% return on that free play, which added to my bottom line and that is really what this is all about, adding to your bottom line.

So, there you go, an easy way to insure you get at least a 50% return on your free play.  I hope I explained this well enough and if not, just leave me a comment and will do my best to help.

JD Sports Online Free Picks Explained Video:

I use many different systems to achieve financial success.  The only sports where you can follow my picks directly and be successful are the NFL, NBA, & MLB.  I have straight up systems for those sports; meaning the picks are not weighted and you can follow them directly and make money from them. That’s right, these picks in the NFL & NBA will earn you a nice return, year after year.  As for MLB, it is an unproven strategy.  I introduced the MLB straight up system in 2011.

Now, for sports like NHL, I will post my picks but I never was able to come up with any straight up angle that would win year after year.

The following is how to read my picks.

Example:

NBA
30 – Portland Trail Blazers +3

NHL
27 – Buffalo / Calgary –135

I gave an example of different types to illustrate the difference.  The first number is the day of the month.  Next is the name of the team, unless it is listed like the NHL example then the play would be Calgary, not Buffalo.

So, in the NBA pick, the play is Portland and in the NHL pick, the play is Calgary.

That is all there is to it.  Follow the picks in NFL & NBA and you will earn some cash.  Now, I might add, that I have only been using a straight up picking strategy  since 2007, so nothing is guaranteed.  Also, I have a percent of return when I stop using a straight up strategy, but I will let you know when that time arrives.  For example, during the 2010 NFL season I went 9-2 and then stopped personally betting straight up, but my other systems kept going.  I would continue to post the NFL picks even though I am not following them straight up, I am using my weighted variables.  Anyway, once all my systems had finished for the NFL, I would then stop posting NFL free picks.  So, if you would have continued to follow my free picks  in the NFL after I stopped personally, your record would have been 23 – 18.    Still a winning season but not as good as if you stopped following when I said I am personally no longer following the straight up system in the NFL.

On the flip side, during the 2010 – 2011 NBA season, I stopped betting my straight up system as it ended with a 10-3 record for the season, however if you continued to follow the picks your record could have been 30-16.  So, naturally the choice is yours, to continue following the picks or not.
