  • 2 handfuls of organic fruit & nut trail mix
  • 1 pretzel rod

GRR!! It finally happened! I way overslept and you can guess the cause… yep… my nemesis, the couch.  Not only did I oversleep, but the sneaky couch did it in a way I am still trying to figure out.  I remember doing the 3am session.  I was late because of my shower.  I remember waking up from the 3am session and thinking, ” I can do this, sleep, on the couch again and feel extremely comfortable.  I just need to make sure I set the big alarm down stairs.” I got up and did my normal routine, but before I could even do an entry on the Polyphasic Day, I must have went downstairs. The next thing I knew over 6 hours had past and I woke on the couch. I still don’t know how that happened. Anyway, after sleeping so long, I don’t feel as refreshed and wide awake as you might think, however I feel more solidly awake. I don’t know if I am explaining that right, but things seem to be on the less extreme, at least for now. As in, when I polyphasic when I am awake, I AM AWAKE, however I can crash at anytime. Right now, I feel solidly awake. The same goes for the out of it feeling. I feel it, but in the back of my mind somewhere, not in the forefront where everything is a little off kilter. It is like a soft voice instead of the loud voice of Polyphasic.

Meals

  • Artesian Water
  • 2 cups of coffee
  • 3 handfuls of organic fruit & nut trail mix
  • 3 pretzel rods

I laid down, not really being tired, but I wanted to take a break anyway and thought 20 minutes would be nice.  So, I laid there and of course didn’t fall asleep for a long while, but in true Polyphasic style I was able to dream and be awake at the same time.  It was pretty cool, since my mind wondered to being a Ja’ Fa (Stargate) and I could control some of my actions, if I thought of how to react fast enough, but it faded if I tried too hard.  In-the-end, I did fall asleep for a short awhile and woke with 4 minutes left.

Meals

  • Artesian Water
  • 1 cup of coffee
  • 1 bacon, egg, & cheese taquito
  • vitamins & minerals

I was feeling a little tired this time, so I laid down, but sleep didn’t come right away.  Eventually, I did fall asleep, but woke right before the timer went off.  However, once I turned it off, I fell back to sleep, but then my computer alarm woke me.  I feel pretty good although, I guess that taquito was a lot of food or something because I feel really full… hmm…

Meals

  • Artesian Water
  • 1 cup of coffee
  • 1 pretzel rod

I laid down and was tired, thinking I would go to sleep, but it didn’t happen.  I also could never really control my waking “dreams” this time.  As soon as I realized what was going on and tried to gain control, it would vanish.  Well, under 7 hours for the day, I guess I should be thank full.  I wonder how this will effect tomorrow and if I will make it through the 7am time slot.  The only time session that gives me trouble.

Total Sleep Time: 6 hr 54 min

Thus ends day 28 of the Polyphasic Sleep Project.

Sleep Well,

JD
