Total Sleep Time: 3 hr 36 min

I was very tired going into this nap. I went right to sleep, however I slept through the timer and woke with the computer alarm. I feel tired and want to go back to sleep. Going to take a shower now.
7am – 32 min
Meals
- Artesian Water
- Beer
- 2 pretzel rods

After watching some Instant Watch stuff, I was tired. I fell right to sleep and slept through the timer and at least the first 5 minutes of the computer alarm clock. Guess I will need to turn up the volume now.
11am – 00 min

- Artesian Water

I did lay down to try and rest, but sleep never came. I couldn’t really meditate either so I laid there for 20 minutes with my eyes closed watching the visions stream across my mind.
3pm – 18 min
Meals
- Artesian Water
- 1 cup of coffee

- 1 grilled cheese from Diamond S
lol… if is isn’t 7am it is 7pm screwing me up… lol… Anyway, since it was so late I didn’t go to the gym and just went straight to the trail to walk in the sun. I laid down to take this nap and didn’t set the computer alarm and slept right through the timer. I was extremely tired , but I feel much bettor now.
11pm – skip
Meals
- Artesian Water
- 2 pretzel rods
- 2 handfuls of organic fruit & nut trail mix
It is now after midnight, so I am just going to skip this time. Maybe it is my melancholy mood but I am getting tired of sleeping. Not the actual sleeping part but of the start, stop, sleep, start, stop, sleep. This “restarting” of my mind upon each wakening is starting to wear on me. Maybe it is the psychological effects of sleeping so little coupled with real life issues. Heck it could be something as small as the music I play, who knows. The end of this day marks the end of month. For the month of February I averaged 3 hours 24 minutes of sleep for each day. Not the under 3 hours, I was going for, but definitely quite a remarkable feet. We shall see what March brings. Wish me luck.
Total Sleep Time: 3 hr 36 min
Thus end day 34 of the Polyphasic Sleep Project.
Sleep Well,
JD
Congrats on your February! Very bravely done!
How do you feel overall? Do you feel like that’s something you want to continue, or are you thinking about another schedule? And mostly: do you actually manage to do what you want to do while you are awake (that is, are you productive)?
Thanks for the congrats
As for the overall feeling, I am not sure. I feel good sometimes and then I feel tired too. Probably, just like a normal schedule but I am starting to feel this is not as much fun as it was when I started.
As for starting a different type of schedule, I would say yes to that. I think for the month of March I will make up my own, calling it the JDMan schedule, lol… I am going to gear it towards 3 hours a day and make it a hybrid of Everyman & Uberman. I should have the details ironed out by the end of the day and post about it.
As for productivity… lol… I know you had touched on this topic in the beginning and I expounded on it, however, I still have not grasped productivity to a level I deem sufficient. Of course this could be because I have put forth a daily routine that is just too demanding under any circumstances. However, I don’t really have a way to test this. I do know that I rarely skip anything on my routine, I just never even come close to finishing it. Most of it has to do with my personal life. There are just so many thing that always seem to need my time that I don’t really have any left. However, lately, I have been adjusting the schedule to something along the lines, of, “okay, I will do 1 hour of working on March Madness”. I start the timer and usually can get at least 15 -30 minutes of work done, in-between being called to do this or that. So, hopefully, by adjusting my daily routine schedule I will have a more productive March. Time will tell.
Creating your own schedule might indeed be the best thing to do — personalization never hurts (Or, alright, most of the time, it doesn’t.)
I think that 3 hours is pretty remarkable already. I mean, most people who sleep “little” will sleep at least 6 hours, and you are doing just half of that. I’m on 5h10min, and I’m not sure I’d want to go any lower than that.. (Although, the past few days I’ve been experimenting with cutting off my second nap…)
In any case, I also wanted to mention something I forgot in my previous comment — I 100% agree about what you are saying regarding the start-stop-start-stop part. I experience the same (this is another reason I am reluctant to more naps.)
It’ll be definitely interesting to see how you manage in March
