Error:
Windows Image Acquisition service ” There is no application registered for this event”
Fix:
You need to click… “Start”
Search for… “Services”
Once found… Right Click and select “Run As Administrator”
Scandown till you find… “Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)”
You then need to Right Click on it… select “Stop”
Then Right Click on it again and select… “Properties”
Start up type as… “Disable”
Reboot

Thank you. I was using a Canon LIDE 25. The Windows Image Acquisition Service was keeping the program from running. Once it was disabled, the Canon Tool Kit program runs like a charm.
